Structural engineering of ruthenium decorated zeolitic imidazole framework nanocomposite for hydrogen evolution reactions and supercapacitors

Summary: This study successfully synthesized ruthenium (Ru) decorated ZIF-8 and ZIF-67 nanocomposites, which were used in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and supercapacitors (SCs). Compared to other materials, the Ru/ZIF-67 nanocomposite exhibited a larger specific surface area, faster electron and ion transfer, and better structural stability, leading to improved overall HER and SC performance. In terms of supercapacitors, the Ru/ZIF-67 nanocomposite showed higher performance with a larger potential window and good cycling stability.

Summary: In this study, a binder-free thin film of bimetallic Cu-Fe-based metal-organic frameworks (Cu/Fe-MOFs) was synthesized via drop-casting method. The Cu/Fe-MOF electrode demonstrated lower urea oxidation reaction (UOR) potentials and higher current densities compared to the pristine Fe-MOF electrode synthesized using a similar method. It also exhibited long-term electrochemical stability during UOR.

Nickel cobalt bimetallic metal-organic frameworks with a layer-and-channel structure for high-performance supercapacitors

Summary: By using L-malic and 4,4'-bipyridine as linkers and Ni and Co as metal centers, a series of bimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with layer-and-channel structure were synthesized. The Ni1Co1MOF exhibited outstanding capacitive performance, reaching a capacitance of 1333 F.g(-1) at 2 A.g(-1) and retaining 83% of its performance at 10 A.g(-1), surpassing its monometallic counterparts. The bimetallic MOFs show promising potential as electrode materials for supercapacitors due to their excellent electrochemical properties.
