Development of a Trajectory Period Folding Method for Burnup Calculations

Przemyslaw Stanisz et al.

Summary: This paper presents a trajectory period folding method for numerical modelling of nuclear transformations, which considers the formation history of nuclide transmutation chains. It can be used to study isotopic transformations including cooling periods and multi-recycling in reactor physics calculations. A case study on the transition from U-238 to Pu-239 is presented to demonstrate the properties and potential applications of the developed method.

Fabrication of high borated austenitic stainless steel thick plates with enhanced ductility and toughness using a hot-roll-bonding method

Yong-Wang Li et al.

Summary: The study finds that using a hot-roll-bonding method can successfully produce double-layered thick plates, and increasing the total rolling compression ratio can transform the initial large and brittle boron particles into more spherical and refined particles, significantly enhancing ductility and toughness.

Linear Chain Method for Numerical Modelling of Burnup Systems

Jerzy Cetnar et al.

Summary: Theoretical aspects of the linear chain method for numerical modelling of nuclear transmutation systems, particularly in regards to transmutation trajectory analysis (TTA), are presented. The TTA method, an advanced version of the linear chain method, has been implemented globally with various numerical improvements and alternative forms of solutions. The paper aims to introduce the background of the developed method, clarify misunderstandings, and suggest unexplored options in the implementation of numerical algorithms.
