Silver Nanoparticle Synthesis via Photochemical Reduction with Sodium Citrate

Bogdan Pascu et al.

Summary: This paper aims to provide a simple and efficient photoassisted approach for synthesizing silver nanoparticles using TSC as both a reducing and stabilizing agent. The key factors, such as synthesis parameters and UV intensity, that play a major role in the photochemical synthesis are elucidated. Additionally, an easy way to evaluate particle size based on Mie theory is proposed.

Shape-selective one-step synthesis of branched gold nanoparticles on the crystal surface of redox-active PdII-macrocycles

Yutaro Yamashita et al.

Summary: The selective synthesis of gold nanoparticles with specific shapes and sizes remains challenging, but this study has shown a new one-step method for obtaining monodisperse branched AuNPs using a metal-macrocycle framework. The chemical structural features of the framework allow for the growth of branched AuNPs via pseudo-seeding, providing a new synthetic approach for diverse gold nanostructures.

Interfacial charge transfer complex formation between silver nanoparticles and aromatic amino acids

Dusan Sredojevic et al.

Summary: This study examines the effect of aromatic amino acids on the optical properties of surface-modified silver nanoparticles. It reveals the formation of an interfacial charge transfer complex between silver and the ligand, as well as partial oxidation of surface silver atoms. The surface modification also makes the nanoparticles more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to air.

The influence of dielectric permittivity of water on the shape of PtNPs synthesized in high-pressure high-temperature microwave reactor

Marek Wojnicki et al.

Summary: A novel method for synthesizing Pt nanoparticles using a microwave autoclave reactor is proposed in this study, with the application of high temperature and high pressure. The research findings demonstrate that this method is advantageous when the ionic strength of the system is sufficiently low. Additionally, under high pressure and temperature conditions, a change in the shape of Pt particles is observed, indicating the involvement of additional physical-chemical processes.
