Genome-wide identification and analysis of the regulation wheat DnaJ family genes following wheat yellow mosaic virus infection

Liu Ting-ting et al.

Summary: This study comprehensively investigates the role of the co-chaperone DnaJ in wheat, revealing the involvement of TaDnaJ family in plant defense response to virus infection. The molecular mechanisms of TaDnaJ-mediated stress tolerance and sensitivity could inform strategies for improving crop resistance to abiotic and biotic stress.

The Astonishing Large Family of HSP40/DnaJ Proteins Existing in Leishmania

Jose Carlos Solana et al.

Summary: Leishmania parasites face abrupt environmental changes during transmission and require rapid reconfiguration of gene expression to adapt. Chaperones, particularly HSP40 proteins, play a central role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and have potential as drug targets for leishmaniasis treatment. Understanding the structural features and functional roles of HSP40 proteins could provide valuable insights for drug discovery.

Characterization of SOD and GPX Gene Families in the Soybeans in Response to Drought and Salinity Stresses

Muqadas Aleem et al.

Summary: This study identified superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) gene families in cultivated and wild soybeans, as well as other legume species. The results showed that cultivated and wild soybeans had the highest number of SODs and GPXs, and exhibited highest homology among legume species. The evolution of these gene families was mainly driven by purifying selection and segmental duplication. Furthermore, these genes showed significant differential expression in response to oxidative, drought, and salinity stresses.

Identification of QTLs and joint QTL segments of leaflet traits at different canopy layers in an interspecific RIL population of soybean

Jian Zeng et al.

Summary: Different canopy layers may have different QTLs for leaflet traits, and all canopy layer QTLs together form a complete QTL system. The research revealed the genetic importance of top layer leaves for leaflet traits. Marker-assisted selection can be used to identify and breed genotypes with specific leaflet traits.

GmDNJ1, a type-I heat shock protein 40 (HSP40), is responsible for both Growth and heat tolerance in soybean

Kwan-Pok Li et al.

Summary: The study identified a crucial heat shock protein gene, GmDNJ1, in soybean that plays a significant role in maintaining protein structure and heat tolerance under stress conditions. Knockout mutants of this gene showed stunted growth under normal conditions and increased susceptibility to heat stress with more severe damage.

Engineering broad-spectrum resistance to cotton leaf curl disease by CRISPR-Cas9 based multiplex editing in plants

Muhammad Salman Mubarik et al.

Summary: Targeting multiple sites in the CLCuV genome using CRISPR-Cas9 system can result in more effective interference with virus proliferation, with low recovery efficiency of altered virus molecules. Simultaneously targeting multiple CLCuV genes in plants can enhance resistance against virus infection, and in cotton can significantly decrease virus accumulation.
