The ethanol extract of flower buds of Tussilago farfara L. attenuates cigarette smoke-induced lung inflammation through regulating NLRP3 inflammasome, Nrf2, and NF-κB

Lin-Tao Xu et al.

Summary: The study aimed to explore the efficiency of Tussilago farfara L. flower buds in treating lung inflammation both in vitro and in vivo, targeting NLRP3 inflammasome, Nrf2, and NF-kappa B. Results showed that FTF-EtOH effectively attenuated lung inflammation by activating Nrf2 and inhibiting NF-kappa B and NLRP3 inflammasome. These findings support the traditional use of FTF as an anti-inflammatory drug in treating respiratory diseases in TCM.

Tongtong Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that BJO and BE-BJO significantly prolonged the survival time of H22 ascites tumor-bearing mice, while BF-BJO showed no obvious effect. Additionally, BJO and BE-BJO exhibited pronounced anti-HCC activity by suppressing the growth of implanted hepatoma H22 in mice, including weight, abdominal circumference, ascites volume, and cancer cell viability, with a relatively wide safety margin.
