Key features of nano-emulsion formation by the phase inversion temperature method

Jin Feng et al.

Summary: This review discusses the process of nano-emulsion formation using the phase inversion temperature method, emphasizing the relationship between phase behavior and nano-emulsion formation, and highlighting the key role of phase transitions involving equilibrium phases such as lamellar liquid crystalline and/or bicontinuous microemulsion phases to achieve minimum and controlled droplet sizes.

Effects of emulsifiers on the physicochemical stability of Oil-in-water Nanoemulsions: A critical review

Masoumeh Marhamati et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the effects of emulsifiers on the physicochemical stability of oil-in-water nanoemulsions, considering factors such as preparation methods, nature, concentration, molecular weight, and type of the food matrix. Emulsifiers play a key role in the formation and stability of food emulsions through adsorption at the oil-water interface, contributing to the production of stable nanoemulsion-based structures. Further research is needed to identify novel emulsifiers or combinations for food applications.

Insecticidal Terpenes From the Essential Oils of Artemisia nakaii and Their Inhibitory Effects on Acetylcholinesterase

Jiayi Liu et al.

Summary: This study identified twenty terpenes from Artemisia nakaii essential oils, with monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes showing strong fumigant toxicity and antifeedant activity against Spodoptera litura larvae. Monoterpenes like 1,8-cineole and (+)-camphor displayed significant fumigant activity, while sesquiterpenes like feropodin and beta-selinene showed noticeable antifeedant activity. The essential oils and beta-selinene also inhibited acetylcholinesterase, indicating their potential use as botanical pesticides against S. litura.
