Fabrication of size-controlled hierarchical ZnS@ZnIn2S4 heterostructured cages for enhanced gas-phase CO2 photoreduction

Knack behind the high performance CdS/ZnS-NiS nanocomposites: Optimizing synergistic effect between cocatalyst and heterostructure for boosting hydrogen evolution

Summary: Introducing a co-catalyst and constructing a heterostructure are two effective strategies in improving the photocatalytic H2 evolution performance of semiconductors. This study successfully fabricated a co-catalyst NiS decorated ZnS/CdS heterostructure for efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution from water splitting. The optimized heterostructure showed a high hydrogen evolution rate without the need for additional noble metal co-catalyst, demonstrating the synergistic effect between the heterostructure and co-catalyst. The one-pot fabrication process allowed for the formation of closely contacted interfaces and sufficient exposure of active reaction sites, leading to enhanced H2 evolution ability.

Ab-initio study of Nb-based complex materials: A new class of materials for optoelectronic applications
