Membrane-Less Ethanol Electrooxidation over Pd-M (M: Sn, Mo and Re) Bimetallic Catalysts

Estela Ruiz-Lopez et al.

Summary: The addition of Sn and Re significantly improved the electrochemical performance of Pd in the ethanol oxidation reaction, while the addition of Mo did not have a significant promotional effect. Sn and Re additions led to a 3-4 fold increase in the oxidation peak current, improved electrochemical surface area, and onset potential, with Sn showing a more significant effect. Pd50Sn50/C was more stable in membrane-less electrolysis compared to Pd50Re50/C, with both catalysts generating high-purity hydrogen streams at high intensities and low voltages.

Ionic Liquid-Derived Carbon-Supported Metal Electrocatalysts as Anodes in Direct Borohydride-Peroxide Fuel Cells

Jadranka Milikic et al.

Summary: Three different carbon-supported metal nanoparticle electrocatalysts were prepared and characterized, showing different behavior in the electrochemical investigation. In direct borohydride-peroxide fuel cell tests, the Pt/c-IL anode achieved approximately four times higher power density compared to the Au/c-IL anode.
