Promoted selective oxidation of ethylbenzene in liquid phase achieved by hollow CeVO4 microspheres

Jiangyong Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of CeVO4 catalysts with hierarchical hollow microsphere-like structure were successfully prepared and applied in the selective oxidation of ethylbenzene. The optimized catalyst CVO-500 exhibited high yield and excellent stability under the optimal reaction conditions. The bimetallic synergy between V and Ce was found to be the key factor for the outstanding performance of CVO-500 catalyst.

Nitrogen-doped 3D hollow carbon spheres for efficient selective oxidation of C-H bonds under mild conditions

Huan Zhang et al.

Summary: Heteroatom-doped carbon-based materials, such as nitrogen-doped 3D hollow carbon spheres (N-HCSs), show great potential as metal-free catalysts for selective oxidation of C-H bonds. The catalytic performance of N-HCSs is influenced by deposition temperature, nitrogen content, and pore structure. Higher mesopore abundance and moderate graphite nitrogen content enhance the catalytic activity of N-HCSs.

Study of ethylbenzene oxidation over polymer-silica hybrid supported Co (II) and Cu (II) complexes

Vasu Chaudhary et al.

Summary: The polymer-silica hybrid support catalyst was synthesized by incipient impregnation technique and showed good catalytic activity in the oxidation of ethylbenzene, with acetophenone as the main product and benzaldehyde as the minor product. The highest ethylbenzene conversion rate reached 83.65% at a 1:4 mol ratio of ethylbenzene to TBHP and a temperature of 100 degrees C. The catalysts demonstrated good reusability, with the ability to be reused three times without significant loss in structural and catalytic properties.
