Quantum effects on the black hole shadow and deflection angle in the presence of plasma*

Farruh Atamurotov et al.

Summary: In this study, the optical properties of a renormalization group improved Schwarzschild black hole in a plasma medium are investigated. The deflection angle of light in the weak gravity regime is computed for uniform and non-uniform plasma media, revealing the modifications caused by the plasma medium. The effects of plasma media play an important role in the optical appearance of black holes.

Weak deflection angle and shadow cast by the charged-Kiselev black hole with cloud of strings in plasma

Farruh Atamurotov et al.

Summary: In this study, the gravitational deflection angle of photons in the weak field limit and shadow cast by the electrically charged and spherically symmetric static Kiselev black hole in the string cloud background are investigated. The influences of the BH charge Q, quintessence parameter gamma, and string cloud parameter a on the weak deflection angle, radius of photon spheres, and size of the BH shadow are studied. Moreover, the effects of plasma on the weak deflection angle and shadow cast by the charged-Kiselev BH surrounded by the clouds of strings are analyzed. Data from the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration are used to obtain constraints on the values of the parameters gamma and a.

Shadow and deflection angle of charged rotating black hole surrounded by perfect fluid dark matter

Farruh Atamurotov et al.

Summary: We analyzed the shadow of a charged rotating black hole in the presence of perfect fluid dark matter and found that the size and shape of the shadow are affected by the dark matter parameter, charge, and rotation parameter. Additionally, we investigated the influence of these parameters on effective potential and energy emission, comparing the results to the non-rotating case in general relativity. We also explored the effect of dark matter on the deflection angle and size of Einstein rings.

Testing the Einstein-AEther gravity: particle dynamics and gravitational lensing

Farruh Atamurotov et al.

Summary: The optical and energetic properties of black holes in Einstein-AEther gravity are investigated in this paper. The motion and effective potential of massive and massless particles under the influence of Einstein-AEther gravity parameters are studied. The horizon structure, photon orbits, and Innermost Stable Circular Orbit (ISCO) radius of mass particles around the black hole are obtained. Gravitational weak lensing and the deflection angle of light rays in a plasma environment are also examined. The energy extraction from black holes in Einstein-AEther gravity is explored using the BSW effect, and the expression for the center mass energy is derived.

Rotating charged black hole in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity: Photon motion and its shadow

Uma Papnoi et al.

Summary: A charged rotating black hole was constructed in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity from a charged black hole in 4D EGB gravity using complex coordinate transformations suggested by Newman-Janis. The null geodesics were studied to investigate the shadow shape cast by a rotating charged black hole in 4D EGB gravity, with analysis on the influence of Gauss-Bonnet term and black hole charge on horizon, shadow, effective potential, and energy emission rate. The Gauss-Bonnet parameter was found to have an impact on the shape and size of the shadow, as well as on the effective potential, horizon, and energy emission rate.

In the case of GRB 090717034, two consecutive pulses with the same temporal profile but different count rates were observed, indicating a possible gravitationally lensed candidate. Using chi squared minimization and Monte Carlo simulations, the candidate was confirmed with a 1 sigma confidence level.

Shadow and quasinormal modes of the Kerr-Newman-Kiselev-Letelier black hole

Farruh Atamurotov et al.

Summary: We investigate the effects of different parameters on the null geodesics and shadow cast by the Kerr-Newman-Kiselev-Letelier (KNKL) black hole. We find that increasing the values of certain parameters leads to an increase in the size of the shadow and the strength of the gravitational field of the black hole. Additionally, we explore the relationship between the shadow radius and quasinormal modes for the KNKL black hole and study the emission energy rate. We also examine the effects of plasma on the shadow size and gravitational field intensity of the KNKL black hole. These findings provide valuable insights into the nature and properties of black holes.

Summary: We calculated the exact solutions to the equations of motion governing light ray trajectories in the exterior of a Kerr black hole filled with inhomogeneous and anisotropic plasma. By characterizing the plasma with radial and angular structure functions, and using the Hamilton-Jacobi method, we defined two effective potentials and analytically solved elliptic integrals of motion to express the evolution of coordinates in terms of Mino time, providing three-dimensional demonstrations of the light ray trajectories.

Summary: In the strong deflection limit, gravitational lensing by a photon sphere in a Reissner-Nordstrom naked singularity spacetime can result in an infinite number of images with significantly different brightness levels around the photon sphere. By studying the analytic expressions of the deflection angles, it is possible to distinguish between a black hole spacetime and a naked singularity spacetime.

Shadows and negative precession in non-Kerr spacetime

Summary: The shadow is not only a property of black holes, but can also be cast by naked singularities. Novel features of the shadow of naked singularities differentiate them from black holes observationally. Negative precession of bound timelike orbits and the simultaneous presence of shadow in deformed Kerr naked singularity spacetime may indicate the presence of a deformed Kerr naked singularity.
