Multi-objective excavation trajectory optimization for unmanned electric shovels based on pseudospectral method

Tianci Zhang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a multi-objective trajectory optimization framework based on the pseudospectral method is proposed for excavation trajectory planning in autonomous mining scenarios. The framework models the machinery-ore coupling dynamics of electric shovels and establishes a multi-objective optimization model. By discretizing the constraints, states, and control variables using the Radau pseudospectral method, the framework solves the associated Non-Linear Programming (NLP) to obtain the optimal excavation trajectory and control variables. Experimental studies confirm the effectiveness of the proposed framework in generating optimal excavation trajectories for unmanned electric shovels.

Optimization-Based Framework for Excavation Trajectory Generation

Yajue Yang et al.

Summary: In this letter, a novel optimization-based framework for autonomous excavator trajectory generation is presented, which outperforms traditional methods by expanding the search space through task specification and waypoint interpolating spline representation of the trajectory. Experiments on a real robot platform demonstrate the adaptability and efficiency of the proposed method compared to other optimal path planners.

Time-jerk optimal trajectory planning of hydraulic robotic excavator

Yunyue Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the optimal trajectory planning of a hydraulic robotic excavator using the Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) algorithm, considering a trade-off between time and acceleration. By utilizing cubic splines for interpolation in joint space, the optimal angle curves for each joint are obtained and the excavator's optimal time-jerk trajectory planning is achieved. Experimental results demonstrate that the SQP method is more efficient in solving the optimal solution under the same weight, resulting in smoother excavating trajectories and improved stability and efficiency in autonomous operation.
