Breathable Encapsulated Liquid Metal Foam-Based Soft Stress Sensor

Summary: This study proposes a breathable encapsulated LM foam (BELMF)-based soft stress sensor by using two polydimethylsiloxane foam layers to encapsulate the liquid metal and designing a three-dimensional electrode for electric connection without compromising breathability. When stress is applied, the LM foam collapses and forms new conductive paths, reducing the resistance of the sensor. The BELMF-based sensor has a sensitivity of 1.4 Pa-1 and potential applications in monitoring human motion.

Deep Eutectic Solvents-Based Ionogels with Ultrafast Gelation and High Adhesion in Harsh Environments

However, existing adhesives typically have weak adhesion strength and deteriorate in harsh environments. In this study, a novel ionogel with tunable mechanical properties is developed using a deep eutectic solvent as the medium for photopolymerization. The ionogel demonstrates fast gelation and bonding without external pressure, high adhesion in various environments, and wide applications in packaging, marine engineering, medical adhesives, and electronic assembly.
