3D nanopolymerization and damage threshold dependence on laser wavelength and pulse duration

Danielius Samsonas et al.

Summary: The dependence of polymerization and optical damage thresholds in multi-photon polymerization lithography were studied using a laser system with group delay dispersion control. The non-linearity order and light-matter interaction mechanisms were investigated for different prepolymers. Polymerization was observed at all wavelengths and pulse durations, with minimal differences in achieved spatial dimension. The dynamics of voxel growth revealed a change in power dependence and significant variation in the dynamic fabrication window.

Two-Photon Polymerization Lithography for Optics and Photonics: Fundamentals, Materials, Technologies, and Applications

Hao Wang et al.

Summary: The rapid development of additive manufacturing, especially in two-photon polymerization lithography (TPL), has revolutionized various research fields and industrial applications. TPL offers high nanoscale print resolution and has been widely used in diverse areas such as life sciences, materials sciences, mechanics, and microfluidics. With the optical transparency of the resins used, TPL is finding new applications in optics and photonics, enabling the exploration of light-matter interactions with unprecedented degrees of freedom. This review article discusses the fundamentals, fabrication methods, and a wide range of optical applications of TPL, including diffractive, topological, quantum, and color optics, and concludes with insights and perspectives on the future development of TPL and its potential optical applications.

Ponderomotive forces in the system of two nanoparticles

Valeri Lozovski et al.

Summary: This study models and simulates the mechanical consequences of the electromagnetic interaction between two nanoparticles. It shows that the local field enhancement effect in the system leads to the appearance of local field gradients, which can result in ponderomotive forces acting on the nanoparticles near their surface.

Laser additive manufacturing of Si/ZrO2 tunable crystalline phase 3D nanostructures

Greta Merkininkaite et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the rapidly developing field of inorganic material 3D object production at the nano-/micro scale. The researchers used laser lithography and heat treatment to fabricate a series of organometallic polymer precursors with different silicon and zirconium ratios. The spatial downscaling and surface morphology of these structures were evaluated, and a crystalline phase was confirmed through X-ray diffraction analysis. The fabricated 3D objects retained their complex geometry without distortion after heat treatment, and achieved a new record of resolution below 60 nm. This preparation protocol is promising for the manufacturing of high precision micro/nano-devices with resistance to high temperature and aggressive environments.

High tolerance detour-phase graphene-oxide flat lens

Shibiao Wei et al.

Summary: The new implementation of detour phase graphene flat lens allows for flexible adjustment of annular number and width, achieving the same focal length without significant distortions. This can significantly weaken the requirement of the nanofabrication system, which is important for the development of large-scale flat lenses in industry applications.

Marwa A. El-Sayed et al.

Summary: The study conducted a comprehensive experimental research on the optical properties of chemical-vapor deposited (CVD) monolayer graphene, free from assumptions of additional nano-thick water layers or other media. It was found that there is a slight difference in the optical constants of graphene on different substrates, but they are very close to those of graphite.
