Shape and interfacial structure of droplets. Exact results and simulations

Alessio Squarcini et al.

Summary: We compare the results obtained from Monte Carlo simulations with the Ising model and the exact field theory of phase separation in two dimensions for a droplet interface pinned on a flat wall. The simulations confirm the theoretical predictions for the interface structure effects, resolving a long-standing discrepancy between simulations and theory for the order parameter profile. The results also establish the long-ranged decay of interfacial correlations parallel to the interface.

Four-point interfacial correlation functions in two dimensions. Exact results from field theory and numerical simulations

Alessio Squarcini et al.

Summary: Exact analytic results for several four-point correlation functions in statistical models with phase separation in two dimensions are derived, and then applied to the Ising model on a two-dimensional strip, showing excellent agreement with high-precision Monte Carlo simulations.

Multipoint correlation functions at phase separation. Exact results from field theory

Alessio Squarcini

Summary: In this study, we explore near-critical two-dimensional statistical systems with boundary conditions inducing phase separation on the strip. By utilizing the low-energy properties of two-dimensional field theories, we calculate arbitrary n-point correlation of the order parameter field and discuss finite-size corrections and mixed correlations involving the stress tensor trace. An explicit illustration technique is provided with a closed-form expression for a three-point correlation function, highlighting the explicit form of the long-ranged interfacial fluctuations and their confinement within the interfacial region.

Correlations and structure of interfaces in the Ising model: theory and numerics

Alessio Squarcini et al.

Summary: In this study, phase separation of the two-dimensional Ising model on a strip in the near-critical region was investigated. Within the field theory framework, exact analytic results for certain two- and three-point correlation functions of the order parameter field were found. Accurate Monte Carlo simulations confirmed the analytic results for order parameter correlations, energy density profile, subleading corrections, and passage probability density of the interface.

Interface in presence of a wall. Results from field theory

Gesualdo Delfino et al.

Summary: In this study, three-dimensional statistical systems at phase coexistence in the half-volume with an interface present were considered. By analyzing the problem from first principles, starting from the degrees of freedom of the bulk field theory, the passage probability of the interface and the order parameter profile were derived. It was shown that the theory also accounts for the binding transition and its key parameter at a fundamental level.
