Large N superconformal indices for 3d holographic SCFTs

Nikolay Bobev et al.

Summary: We study the limit of the superconformal index of the ABJM theory on S-1 x S-2 with a small circle size compared to the sphere radius. We find closed form expressions for the leading terms in this limit, valid to all orders in the 1/N expansion. By rewriting the superconformal index, we establish a connection with the Bethe Ansatz Equations that govern the topologically twisted index. Applying the same technique, we extend these results to the superconformal index of 3d N = 4 SYM coupled to one adjoint and N-f fundamental hypermultiplets. The implications of our findings for holography and charged rotating black holes in AdS(4) are discussed.

D4-branes wrapped on a spindle

Federico Faedo et al.

Summary: We construct supersymmetric AdS(4)x Sigma solutions of D = 6 gauged supergravity, and uplift them to massive type IIA supergravity solutions using a general prescription. These solutions correspond to a system of D8-branes and D4-branes wrapped on a spindle, embedded in a Calabi-Yau three-fold. The dual field theories are d = 3, N = 2 SCFTs arising from a twisted compactification of the d = 5, N = 1 USp(2N) gauge theory.

The holographic contributions to the sphere free energy

Damon J. Binder et al.

Summary: We study the impact of different bulk couplings on the free energy of three-dimensional N = 2 superconformal field theories. We find that certain bulk couplings have no effect on the free energy, while others can lead to non-trivial changes. Additionally, we investigate the insensitivity of the free energy to the mass and interaction couplings of massive vector multiplets.

4d N=2 supergravity observables from Nekrasov-like partition functions

Kiril Hristov

Summary: We reinterpret the OSV formula for the on-shell action/entropy function of asymptotically flat BPS black holes as a fixed point formula that is formally equivalent to a recent gluing proposal for asymptotically AdS(4) black holes. This prompts a conjecture that the complete perturbative answer for the most general gravitational building block of 4d N = 2 supergravity at a single fixed point takes the form of a Nekrasov-like partition function with equivariant parameters related to the higher-derivative expansion of the prepotential. In turn this leads to a simple localization-like proposal for a set of supersymmetric partition functions in (UV completed) 4d N = 2 supergravity theories.

Large N Partition Functions, Holography, and Black Holes

Nikolay Bobev et al.

Summary: We present a simple closed form expression for the topologically twisted index of the ABJM theory, which is a function of the magnetic fluxes and complex chemical potentials valid at fixed k and to all orders in the 1/N expansion. This has important implications for holography and the microscopic entropy counting of supersymmetric static AdS(4) black holes.

Summary: In this study, we apply the conjecture of gravitational building blocks to analyze M-theory on S-7/Z(k). By utilizing the known localization results for the holographically dual ABJM theory, we determine higher derivative corrections to the AdS(4) supergravity, quantum corrections, and predict ABJM observables using the uniquely fixed gravitational block.

Summary: We explore the BPS limit of asymptotically flat black hole thermodynamics and find analogies with black holes in anti-de Sitter space. We consider specific models in pure Einstein-Maxwell theory and find that the BPS limit is classically well-defined, different from extremality, and allows the evaluation of all BPS chemical potentials.

Factorization of log-corrections in AdS4/CFT3 from supergravity localization

Kiril Hristov et al.

Summary: The study derives the general form of one-loop corrections to observables in asymptotically AdS(4) supersymmetric backgrounds of abelian gauged supergravity using the Atiyah-Singer index theorem. It proposes a general fixed-point formula for the logarithmic corrections based on simple topological data and a single dynamical coefficient that uniquely determine these corrections.

D3-Branes Wrapped on a Spindle

Pietro Ferrero et al.

Summary: The study focuses on constructing supersymmetric AdS solutions in 5-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity, which can uplift to smooth solutions of type IIB supergravity on regular Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. These solutions are dual to d = 2, H = (0, 2) SCFTs, and it is shown that the central charge of the gravity solution matches with a field theory calculation involving D3-branes wrapped on Sigma.

Higher-derivative supergravity, AdS4 holography, and black holes

Nikolay Bobev et al.

Summary: Utilizing conformal supergravity techniques, this study explores four-derivative corrections in four-dimensional gauged supergravity. The four-derivative Lagrangian for the N=2 gravity multiplet's propagating degrees of freedom is shown to be determined by two real dimensionless constants, with all solutions of the two-derivative equations of motion also solving the four-derivative equations of motion. The study also provides explicit calculations of the effects of four-derivative terms on black hole solutions and expands the results to include matter multiplets in the presence of higher-derivative terms.

Supersymmetry of higher-derivative supergravity in AdS4 holography

Pietro Benetti Genolini et al.

Summary: A recent proposal for higher-derivative corrections to minimal gauged Euclidean supergravity in four dimensions was made. It was shown that the supersymmetric solutions of this model correspond to those of the two-derivative action, and some of their properties were investigated. In particular, a formula for the renormalized on-shell action was proven in terms of contributions from fixed points of a U(1) action, and it was confirmed to be invariant under deformations preserving the boundary almost contact structure.

Accelerating black holes and spinning spindles

Pietro Ferrero et al.

Summary: The study explores accelerating, rotating, and dyonically charged black hole solutions in AdS 4, showing that D = 4 black hole metrics have conical singularities when the acceleration is nonvanishing. By uplifting to D = 11 supergravity and eliminating conical singularities, new regular supersymmetric AdS solutions are derived. The entropy of these black holes can potentially be derived from certain gauge theories in spinning spindle compactifications.
