Potato Cultivar Identification in South Africa Using a Custom SNP Panel

Inge Gazendam et al.

Summary: This study investigated the suitability of SNP panels for DNA fingerprinting of tetraploid potatoes, and identified a panel of 25 SNP markers that can accurately discriminate South African potato cultivars. These SNP markers were validated and a SNP genotype overview database was compiled in the germplasm database, providing an objective method for fingerprinting.

Identification and Validation of a Core Single-Nucleotide Polymorphism Marker Set for Genetic Diversity Assessment, Fingerprinting Identification, and Core Collection Development in Bottle Gourd

Ying Wang et al.

Summary: Through the exploration of germplasm resources in bottle gourd, a highly informative core SNP marker set was established for genetic diversity assessment, population structure analysis, and fingerprinting of important accessions. A core population of 150 significant bottle gourd accessions was developed using this marker set, representing 100% of the genetic variation in the germplasm.
