Single and combined effects of fertilization, ectomycorrhizal inoculation, and drought on container-grown Japanese larch seedlings

Summary: This study examined the impact of climate change on the growth and health of Japanese larch seedlings by modifying fertilization and promoting mycorrhization. The results showed that adequate fertilization stimulated plant growth and biomass production, while mycorrhizal treatment counteracted the effects of fertilization. Drought significantly reduced photosynthesis and induced senescence, and also altered nutrient content in the leaves. This study provides a basis for further research on producing high-quality seedlings under climate change.

Auxin/Cytokinin Antagonistic Control of the Shoot/Root Growth Ratio and Its Relevance for Adaptation to Drought and Nutrient Deficiency Stresses

The control of shoot/root growth ratio is crucial for the survival of terrestrial plants, and auxin promotes drought stress tolerance and nutrient uptake while cytokinin reduces them. Recent studies have shown that drought stress and nutrient availability can impact the signaling and biosynthesis pathways of auxin and cytokinin, with opposite effects. These findings suggest a unidirectional regulation, with auxin as the primary regulatory component.

Increasing plant performance, fruit production and nutritional value of tomato through foliar applied rutin

The results showed that rutin can improve the photosynthetic performance and metabolism of tomato plants, leading to improved growth parameters and fruit yield. The Response of Globe Artichoke Plants to Potassium Fertilization Combined with the Foliar Spraying of Seaweed Extract

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different potassium fertilizers, biofertilizers, and seaweed extract concentrations on the growth and yield quality of globe artichoke. The results showed that the best results in terms of leaf weight, offshoot number, and leaf chemical content were achieved when potassium fertilizer was added to the soil and seaweed extract was sprayed at a concentration of 3 g/L. Therefore, it is suggested that applying mineral potassium fertilizer, biofertilizer, and seaweed extract can improve the yield and quality of globe artichoke.

Different genotypes of two Amaranthus species showed variations in phytonutrients, pigments, vitamins, phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidants. A. tricolor accessions exhibited high levels of phytochemicals and antioxidants, making them potential high-yielding cultivars.
