Comparison of Data Normalization Strategies for Array-Based MicroRNA Profiling Experiments and Identification and Validation of Circulating MicroRNAs as Endogenous Controls in Hypertension

Lakshmi Manasa S. Chekka et al.

Summary: This study aimed to find the best data normalization strategy and endogenous control for hypertension studies by analyzing 754 miRNAs in baseline plasma. Quantile normalization and global mean normalization were found to be the best methods in reducing the variation in the data. The combination of miR-223-3p and miR-126-5p was identified as a potential endogenous control for hypertension studies.
