Constructions of 2-D Golay Complementary Array Sets for MIMO Omnidirectional Transmission

Tao Liu et al.

Summary: This letter presents new constructions of two-dimensional (2-D) Golay complementary array sets (GCASs) based on 2-D multivariable functions. Compared with existing constructions, the proposed constructions can be represented by explicit function forms that are more convenient for practical applications. Furthermore, 2-D GCASs with new parameters are obtained. Numerical results demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed 2-D GCASs in massive MIMO systems.

Two-Dimensional Golay Complementary Array Pairs/Sets With Bounded Row and Column Sequence PAPRs

Cheng-Yu Pai et al.

Summary: This paper introduces the construction methods of 2-D GCAPs, 2-D GCASs, and 2-D Golay complementary array mates based on generalized Boolean functions. The explicit expressions of Boolean functions for 2-D GCAPs and 2-D GCASs are given. Furthermore, the PAPR properties of the constructed 2-D GCAPs and 2-D GCASs are investigated and proven to have upper bounds.

Binary Golay Spreading Sequences and Reed-Muller Codes for Uplink Grant-Free NOMA

Nam Yul Yu

Summary: The paper investigates a set of user-specific, non-orthogonal, binary spreading sequences for uplink grant-free NOMA, and conducts a probabilistic analysis to search for a permutation set for Golay sequences with low coherence. Simulation results show that the PAPR of multicarrier signals transmitted via these spreading sequences is significantly lower, and the performance of CS-based joint channel estimation and multiuser detection using these sequences is superior to other types of sequences.

Golay pairs waveform for automotive radar target parameters estimation

Kaoutar Farnane et al.

Summary: This study focuses on using Golay pair waveform for target parameter estimation in automotive radar operating at 77 GHz. The proposed scheme adapts to the new shaping of the Golay pair waveform for multipulse configuration, with analysis on its performance compared to the standard Golay pair waveform. Results show that the proposed waveform performs well with a maximum SNR threshold of less than 15 dB.

Two-Dimensional Binary Z-Complementary Array Pairs

Cheng-Yu Pai et al.

Summary: The concept of Golay complementary pairs has been extended to two-dimensional arrays with the introduction of zero correlation zone property. Various constructions of Z-complementary array pairs are proposed in the article, along with a discussion on their existence for all sizes. Additionally, an upper bound on the rectangular ZCZ size of the 2-D ZCAP is derived for odd dimensions, with proposed constructions achieving this upper bound.

Construction of Golay Complementary Matrices and Its Applications to MIMO Omnidirectional Transmission

Fengjie Li et al.

Summary: This paper studies the extension of Golay complementary sequences to Golay complementary matrices, proposing feasible sizes for constructing binary and quaternary GCM, as well as autocorrelation complementary matrices for a set of N matrices. The GCM/ACM can be applied to omnidirectional transmission in MIMO communication systems, with two proposed schemes for perfect omnidirectional beampattern in the RF analog domain.
