Golay complementary array pairs (GCAPs) are a 2-D analogy of Golay complementary pairs (GCPs). In recent years, there have been many reports on designing and analyzing the correlation properties of Golay-ZCZ sequence sets, which have been successfully applied in inter-symbol interference (ISI) channel estimation. GCAPs are suitable for MIMO omnidirectional transmission. This work designs and analyzes the correlation properties of individual 2-D Golay arrays and introduces a novel class of array pairs called 2-D Golay-ZCZ array pairs, which have flexible size, large zero correlation zones (ZCZs), and potential applications in MIMO omnidirectional transmissions.
Golay complementary array pairs (GCAPs) are a two-dimensional (2-D) analogy of Golay complementary pairs (GCPs). In recent years, owing to the succesful application of Golay sequences with zero correlation zones (ZCZs) in inter-symbol interference (ISI) channel estimation, many works have been reported in designing and analysing the correlation properties of Golay-ZCZ sequence sets. GCAPs are found to be suitable for MIMO omnidirectional transmission. In this work, we design and analyse the correlation properties of individual 2-D Golay arrays and introduced a novel class of array pairs called 2-D Golay-ZCZ array pairs. The proposed 2-D Golay-ZCZ array pairs are of flexible size, large ZCZs and have potential applications in MIMO omnidirectional transmissions.
