Hollow Carbon Nanospheres Decorated with Abundant Pyridinic N+O- for Efficient Acetylene Hydrochlorination

Feng Li et al.

Summary: In this study, nonmetal hollow carbon nanospherical materials with hierarchical porous structures were synthesized via a self-templating method, providing local active sites for promoting improved activity and stability of the catalyst. Decorating the carbon material with heteroatomic groups played a crucial role in the synergistic adsorption and activation of reactants, contributing to the continuous exposure of active sites and impeding carbon deposition. The optimized PACP-800 catalyst shows significantly improved activity and stability, making it a promising candidate for industrial applications.

The Synergistic Effect of Pyrrolic-N and Pyridinic-N with Pt Under Strong Metal-Support Interaction to Achieve High-Performance Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

Wenhao Yu et al.

Summary: This study successfully develops Pt/X-NCNT (X = 4, 8, 12, 16) catalysts with strong metal-support interaction (SMSI), which shows significant potential for hydrogen production by water electrolysis at high current density conditions. In-situ and ex-situ experiments and density functional theory simulations reveal the synergistic effect of various nitrogen functional groups and Pt under SMSI, optimizing the Gibbs free energies of reaction intermediates.

Insights into formation of Pt species in Pt/CeO2 catalysts: Effect of treatment conditions and metal-support interaction

T. A. Bugrova et al.

Summary: The formation of Pt species on the CeO2 surface in Pt/CeO2 catalysts is influenced by Pt content and treatment conditions, with oxidative decomposition temperature of the Pt precursor being a key factor defining the state and size of the Pt species formed. High pretreatment temperature leads to strong Pt-CeO2 interaction and smaller Pt particles, while low temperature treatment results in pronounced agglomeration of Pt species.
