Fe3O4 Nanoparticles Loaded Bentonite/Sawdust Interface for the Removal of Methylene Blue: Insights into Adsorption Performance and Mechanism via Experiments and Theoretical Calculations

Mohamed A. Barakat et al.

Summary: This study developed a composite material using magnetite nanoparticles synthesized from altered basalt, H2O2-activated bentonite, and fibrous sawdust for the removal of methylene blue. The characterization and analysis of the composite revealed its effective adsorption capacity and stability. The study also provided insights into the adsorption mechanism at both the molecular scale and energetic level.
