How does innovation consortium promote low-carbon agricultural technology innovation: An evolutionary game analysis

Summary: Low-carbon agriculture is crucial for sustainable development, and technological innovation is the key to transforming agriculture towards low-carbon production. This study developed a game model involving agricultural enterprises, universities, and the government to examine low-carbon technology innovation. The simulation results show that collaborative innovation and government subsidies are effective in promoting low-carbon agriculture development. The findings provide a theoretical basis for government policies to promote scientific and technological progress and develop low-carbon agriculture.

Towards more efficient low-carbon agricultural technology extension in China: identifying lead smallholder farmers and their behavioral determinants

Summary: Based on survey data from rice farmers in Zhejiang Province, China, this study finds that lead smallholder farmers in low-carbon agriculture are younger, more risk-tolerant, have higher education levels, and more family laborers. The efficient use of heterogeneous information is crucial in differentiating lead farmers. Green agricultural producer services can alleviate resource constraints and contribute to the low-carbon transition of all smallholder farmers.

Peer effects, attention allocation and farmers' adoption of cleaner production technology: Taking green control techniques as an example

Summary: Based on survey data for 1109 farmers in five provinces on the North China Plain, this study explores the formation mechanism and impact of peer effects on the adoption behavior of green control techniques among farmers. The results show that peer effects exist among core and intermediate farmers, but not among marginal farmers. The effects mainly come from the learning imitation mechanism and are strengthened by farmers' attention allocation.

The findings reveal droughts, increased temperature, pests and diseases, degradation, and poor socioeconomic conditions as the main determinants of climate change. The main adaptation measures include changing crop types, planting early-maturing crops, crop rotation, mixed cropping, and livelihood diversification. However, lack of knowledge and information, poverty, inadequate governmental support, limited agricultural extension, insufficient financial capital, illiteracy, and markets hinder access and adoption of advanced adaptation measures.
