Efficient removal of naproxen from aqueous solution by highly porous activated carbon produced from Grapetree (Plinia cauliflora) fruit peels

Jordana Georgin et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel porous adsorbent was generated from jabuticaba fruit peels through pyrolysis with zinc chloride, showing a high adsorption capacity for naproxen in aqueous solutions. The activated carbon exhibited excellent pore characteristics, leading to effective removal of naproxen and other drugs from synthetic mixtures. This environmentally friendly adsorbent has the potential to be utilized for wastewater treatment containing pharmaceuticals.

Is one performing the treatment data of adsorption kinetics correctly?

Eder C. Lima et al.

Summary: The linearized PSO model is often found to better fit adsorption kinetics data compared to the linearized PFO model, based on the values of adsorption capacity at equilibrium and coefficient of determination. However, nonlinear fitting may lead to erroneous decisions.
