Sea Level Rise Estimation on the Pacific Coast from Southern California to Vancouver Island

Xiaoxing He et al.

Summary: This study constructs a comprehensive sea level rise profile along the west coast of the USA and Vancouver Island in Canada. By analyzing data from global navigation satellite systems and tide gauges, the study reveals the challenges in accurately estimating sea level rise due to various tectonic movements along the Pacific coast. The research also highlights the large variability of sea level rise estimates and the influence of tectonic activity on measurements. Furthermore, the study finds similarities between sea level rise estimates and sea surface height estimates.

An Improved Adaptive IVMD-WPT-Based Noise Reduction Algorithm on GPS Height Time Series

Huaqing Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a new approach using improved variational mode decomposition and wavelet packet transform (IVMD-WPT) was proposed to enhance GPS signal extraction reliability. The algorithm, which utilizes energy entropy mutual information and grasshopper optimization, demonstrated superior noise reduction performance compared to traditional methods. This was confirmed through simulation experiments and analysis of real GPS height time series, showing significant improvements in RMSE, CC, and SNR values.

Spatial Variations of Stochastic Noise Properties in GPS Time Series

Xiaoxing He et al.

Summary: The study found that noise in GPS stations across North America exhibits varying spectral indices, with some regions flattening to zero at long periods while others are closer to -2. Different noise models have significant implications on estimated tectonic rates.

Feature extraction and improved denoising method for nonlinear and nonstationary high-rate GNSS coseismic displacements applied to earthquake focal mechanism inversion of the El Mayor-Cucapah earthquake

Yanyan Li et al.

Summary: This study introduces an adaptive CEEMD method and an ICEEMD-MPCA denoising method for feature extraction of high-rate GNSS seismic displacements. The denoising method effectively eliminates noise, removes errors, and preserves earthquake wave signals, showcasing millimeter-level accuracy in the vertical component and submillimeter-level accuracy in the horizontal component. The methods improve earthquake focal mechanism inversion and yield more accurate information for small to moderate earthquakes.

Feature Extraction Algorithm Using a Correlation Coefficient Combined With the VMD and Its Application to the GPS and GRACE

Yifan Shen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new correlation variational mode decomposition (CVMD) method that improves feature extraction from GPS and GRACE data and shows superiority over traditional methods. The study finds that seasonal terms from GRACE can be used to correct GPS sequences, and crustal load-deformation in the NCP is primarily influenced by rainfall.
