An Integrated InSAR and GNSS Approach to Monitor Land Subsidence in the Po River Delta (Italy)

Massimo Fabris et al.

Summary: Land subsidence poses a serious threat to many areas around the world, and combining GNSS and InSAR techniques can provide more comprehensive and detailed information for monitoring. In this study, the proposed approach was successfully applied in the Po River Delta in Italy, extracting high-resolution deformation maps and revealing high land subsidence rates along the coastal area.

Present-day land subsidence rates, surface faulting hazard and risk in Mexico City with 2014-2020 Sentinel-1 IW InSAR

Francesca Cigna et al.

Summary: The study primarily focuses on the subsidence situation in the metropolitan area of Mexico City, analyzing data related to vertical velocity, horizontal velocity, surface features, and earthquake risks. The results show that the region is experiencing rapid subsidence, leading to the formation of cracks and surface faults, posing a significant geological hazard risk.

Time-Series Analysis on Persistent Scatter-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PS-InSAR) Derived Displacements of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) from Sentinel-1A Observations

Siting Xiong et al.

Summary: This study applied time-series analysis to derive long-term displacements of infrastructures using persistent scatterer (PS)-InSAR technique. The results show pronounced thermal expansion phenomenon on certain buildings and transportation structures, while sudden changes between subsidence and uplift can be detected through statistical tests applied to the residual signals.

Assessing Urban Landslide Dynamics through Multi-Temporal InSAR Techniques and Slope Numerical Modeling

Nicusor Necula et al.

Summary: Landslides pose an increasing threat to urbanized areas and affected communities, prompting the need for advanced techniques like MT-InSAR for landslide investigation and monitoring. The study in Eastern Romania demonstrates the effectiveness of using SAR images and numerical modeling to identify active landslides and understand their mechanisms.
