Boosting the performance of nickel-cobalt LDH cathode with phosphorus and selenium co-doping for hybrid supercapacitor

Xinyu Shan et al.

Summary: P and Se have an impact on the morphology and pore size of NiCo LDH, leading to more active sites in P, Se-NiCo LDH and promoting the reaction kinetics. By doping low electronegativity selenium and phosphorus into NiCo LDH nanosheets, phosphorus and selenium co-doped nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxide electrodes (P, Se-NiCo LDH) were prepared, which enhance the availability of active sites, improve conductivity, and promote reaction kinetics. The resulting electrode exhibits ultrahigh energy density, power density, and rate performance, which could promote the wider application of supercapacitors.
