Catalytic Activity Comparison of Gold Nanoparticles in Annealed and Quenched Spherical Polyelectrolyte Brushes

Lingshan Li et al.

Summary: Two kinds of cationic spherical polyelectrolyte brushes with polystyrene cores were synthesized, and gold nanoparticles were successfully immobilized in both. The catalytic activity of the prepared gold nanoparticles was found to be higher in one of the brushes.

Temperature-responsive hybrid nanomaterials based on modified halloysite nanotubes uploaded with silver nanoparticles

Tetiana Shevtsova et al.

Summary: New temperature-responsive hybrid nanomaterials based on modified halloysite nanotubes with grafted polymer brushes containing silver nanoparticles have been successfully fabricated. The introduction of silver nanoparticles significantly reduces the critical solution temperature of the polymer layer. These hybrid nanomaterials have potential applications in solid substrate conservation, production of medical facemasks, and photothermal therapy.

Spherical polyelectrolyte brushes as bio-platforms to integrate platinum nanozyme and glucose oxidase for colorimetric detection of glucose

Qingsong Yang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates a facile and general strategy to integrate nanozymes and natural enzymes for cascade reactions using SPB as bio-platforms. The co-immobilized Pt nanozymes and GOX within SPB act as effective biosensors for colorimetric detection of glucose, showing high selectivity and feasibility.

Self-Assembled Thermoresponsive Molecular Brushes as Nanoreactors for Asymmetric Aldol Addition in Water

Michael Kuepfert et al.

Summary: This study reports on thermoresponsive core-shell micelles as catalyst supports, which exhibit different lower critical solution temperature behavior and nanostructure size in water, demonstrating the efficiency by which the molecular brushes self-assemble into micelles. It was also found that molecular brushes with an extended backbone show higher activity and selectivity.
