One-Shot Synthesis of Thermoplastic Polyurethane Based on Bio-Polyol (Polytrimethylene Ether Glycol) and Characterization of Micro-Phase Separation

Yang-Sook Jung et al.

Summary: In this study, bio-based thermoplastic polyurethanes were synthesized and different micro-phase separation forms of hard and soft segments were proposed based on the type and molar ratio of isocyanates. The results provide valuable insights for the design and characterization of bio-based TPUs.

Influences of liquefied lignin content on the properties of waterborne polyurethane prepared with different chain extenders

Wen-Jau Lee et al.

Summary: Adding LL to polyurethane resins can increase the stiffness of the film but decreases breaking deformation; films prepared with EDA as the chain extender have better heat-resistance compared to those with 1,4-BD.

Preparation of Polyurethane Adhesives from Crude and Purified Liquefied Wood Sawdust

Wen Jiang et al.

Summary: Polyurethane adhesives prepared with bio-polyols from wood sawdust liquefaction via acid-catalysis showed varied chemical structure and thermal behavior at different NCO:OH molar ratios, with the highest shear strength observed at a ratio of 1.5:1.

Bio-Based Polyurethane Networks Derived from Liquefied Sawdust

Kamila Gosz et al.

Summary: The study investigated the liquefaction of forestry waste to produce bio-polyols that could potentially substitute petrochemical polyols. Further analysis indicated high biomass conversion and the potential of bio-polyols as green alternatives. The optimal liquefaction temperature was found to be 150 degrees C for 6 hours, showing promising results for sustainable polyurethane resin production.
