Preparation and performance of an immiscible PVC-HDPE blend compatibilized with maleic anhydride (MAH) via in-situ reactive extrusion

Samira Maou et al.

Summary: The mechanical and thermal properties of an uncompatibilized blend, i.e., polyvinyl chloride-high-density polyethylene (PVC-HDPE), can be improved by introducing maleic anhydride (MAH) into the blend polymer. The addition of MAH enhances the adhesion between the two immiscible polymers, increases the thermal stability, and raises the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the blend.

Impact of γ-irradiation and SBR content in the compatibility of aminated (PVC/LLDPE)/ZnO for improving their AC conductivity and oil removal

Ahmed Ibrahim Sharshir et al.

Summary: Blends of PVC and LLDPE often have low compatibility. Adding styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) to the mixture improves the tensile strength and compatibility. The use of a compatibilizer and gamma radiation results in finer blend morphologies with smoother surfaces. Additionally, chemically modifying PVC enhances its oil adsorption capability.

VLE properties and the critical parameters of ternary mixture of CO2 + toluene/dichloromethane involved in the SEDS precipitation process

Ilnar Sh Khabriev et al.

Summary: The study investigated the VLE properties and critical parameters of ternary mixtures involved in the SEDS precipitation process, and used the data to select optimal thermodynamic conditions for implementing the process. By changing the operating parameters, it was possible to modify the particle dimensions and physical-mechanical properties of the polymer mixtures produced by SEDS.

Applications of Supercritical Anti-Solvent Process in Preparation of Solid Multicomponent Systems

Guijin Liu et al.

Summary: Solid multicomponent systems (SMS) are important in the pharmaceutical industry to improve the physicochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The supercritical anti-solvent (SAS) process shows great promise in manipulating the solid-state properties of APIs, with successful production of pharmaceutical co-crystals and solid dispersions. Continuous researching of SAS process will contribute to scalable and continuous manufacturing of desired SMS in the future.
