Reliability of Scoring Telehealth Speech Sound Assessments Administered in Real-World Scenarios

Summary: This study investigates the reliability of scoring a speech sound assessment administered in real-world scenarios, including two examples of telehealth technology. The results show that scoring conditions using consumer-grade equipment produce similar results to in-person scoring conditions. However, speech-language pathologists have skeptical attitudes toward remote delivery of standardized tests, which poses a barrier to widespread telehealth use.

Drawing Talking: Listening to Children With Speech Sound Disorders

Treating Childhood Speech Sound Disorders: Current Approaches to Management by Australian Speech-Language Pathologists
