Mn-doped Ca2Fe2O5 oxygen carrier for chemical looping gasification of biogas residue: Effect of oxygen uncoupling

Beibei Yan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the feasibility of chemical looping gasification (CLG) for the treatment and utilization of biogas residue derived from kitchen waste. It develops a novel oxygen carrier, Mn-doped Ca2Fe2O5 (MCF), and compares its performance to traditional Ca2Fe2O5 (CF) oxygen carrier. Results show that CLG with MCF demonstrates superior performance in gas yield, carbon conversion, and cold gas efficiency due to its oxygen uncoupling capability.

Improved redox performance of Fe2O3/Al2O3 oxygen carrier via element doping in chemical looping combustion

Zhong Ma et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of doping different metals onto iron-based oxygen carriers, finding that Sr could effectively enhance the stability of the oxygen carriers, while Ce and La had weaker effects. The research provides guidance for the preparation of iron-based oxygen carriers with high redox performance.

In-situ reforming and combustion of liquid fuel using MnOx/Ce-γAl2O3 oxygen carrier in a chemical looping combustion process

Muflih A. Adnan et al.

Summary: A new oxygen carrier material was developed for fluidized chemical looping combustion process, serving as both a catalyst and a source of solid phase oxygen. Cerium modification improved the thermal stability of γ-Al2O3, reducing its interaction with MnOx. Experimental results showed that Ce modification enhanced the thermal stability of γ-Al2O3 and improved the reduction and re-oxidation performance of the samples.
