The Effective Components, Core Targets, and Key Pathways of Ginseng against Alzheimer's Disease

Yabo Wang et al.

Summary: A network pharmacology approach was used to explore the effective components, core targets, and key pathways of ginseng against Alzheimer's disease (AD). It was found that ginseng contains 22 bioactive compounds and affects 481 targets related to AD. Through functional enrichment analysis and pathway enrichment analysis, it was discovered that ginseng exerts its anti-AD effects through multicomponent, multitarget, and multipathway modes.

A randomized, placebo-controlled trial investigating the acute and chronic benefits of American Ginseng (Cereboost®) on mood and cognition in healthy young adults, including in vitro investigation of gut microbiota changes as a possible mechanism of action

Lynne Bell et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the beneficial effects of Cereboost(R) on cognitive function and mood, with potential links to alterations in the gut microbiome and modulation of acetylcholine. Further research is needed to fully understand the underlying mechanisms involved in these effects.

Safety and efficacy of dietary supplement (gintonin-enriched fraction from ginseng) in subjective memory impairment: A randomized placebo-controlled trial

Woo-Jin Lee et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the efficacy of gintonin-enriched fraction (GEF) in improving cognitive performance in subjective memory impairment. While GEF showed improvement in certain cognitive aspects, there was no significant difference compared to placebo. Larger and longer follow-up studies are needed to confirm the findings.
