Dependency Theory: An Evaluation of the Period-Based Changes in the Utilization of Maternal Health Care and Neonatal Mortality in Tanzania Between 1991 and 2016

Summary: Despite efforts to improve maternal health care utilization and reduce neonatal mortality in Tanzania, the impact of dependency on reproductive policy changes on MHC and neonatal health remains unclear. This study analyzed secondary data from 1991 to 2016 and found that although neonatal mortalities decreased, the odds of neonatal mortality were still high in 2016. The study also identified a decline in recommended skilled delivery assistance and antenatal care visits, as well as increasing socioeconomic inequality in MHC use and neonatal mortality.

Summary: This study analyzes the circularity of the wood products industry in the European Union by establishing a ranking based on an aggregate circularity index. The results show that Sweden and Portugal have a more circular wood products industry, while the Benelux countries perform poorly. Variables related to trade have a negative relationship with circularity, while variables related to research and development have a positive impact.

A new Enzolv process for simultaneous delignification and lignin-derived chemical production from the woody biomass of Melia dubia

The infrastructures of White settler perception: A political phenomenology of colonialism, genocide, ecocide, and emergency

Summary: Emergencies are shaped by cultural and economic conditions, and are often controlled and manipulated by settler colonial states and capitalist interests. Settler perception infrastructures obscure the experiences of indigenous communities in environmental emergencies, portraying them as human-caused issues and ignoring the direct impact of colonialism, capitalism, and white supremacy. In the logic of white death, colonialism, genocide, war, and slavery are seen as the end of violence and disorder. However, indigenous communities are responding with a politics of refusal, highlighting the relationships and incomparable responsibilities and obligations between us.
