Study of the in situ stress field in a deep valley and its influence on rock slope stability in Southwest China

Yibing Ning et al.

Summary: The in situ stress field in valley areas is complex and influenced by gravity, tectonic movement, and river erosion. This research used numerical simulation to study the in situ stress field of a valley in the upper reaches of the Lancang River, and found that improving the mesh density of the model and considering multistep river erosion can increase the reliability of the inverse results.
