Elucidating the Ambient Stability and Gas Sensing Mechanism of Nickel-Decorated Phosphorene for NO2 Detection: A First-Principles Study

Soufiane Krik et al.

Summary: This study investigated how nickel decoration of phosphorene can improve the stability of the material and revealed the sensing mechanism of nickel-loaded phosphorene towards NO2. The results showed that the introduction of nickel atoms can decrease the band gap of the material, stabilize the positions of the conduction band minimum and the valence band maximum, and slow down the oxidation rate of the material.
