Mortality before and after reconfiguration of the Danish hospital-based emergency healthcare system: a nationwide interrupted time series analysis

Summary: This study investigated the impact of the emergency healthcare system reconfiguration in Denmark on in-hospital and 30-day mortality. The results showed that the overall reconfiguration did not improve in-hospital mortality trends, but there were some possible benefits for specific diagnoses such as myocardial infarction, stroke, aortic aneurysm, and major trauma.

Readmission trends before and after a national reconfiguration of emergency departments in Denmark

Intended and unintended changes in length of stay following reconfiguration of emergency care departments
