Circular RNA Circ_0000442 acts as a sponge of MiR-148b-3p to suppress breast cancer via PTEN/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway

Xiao-Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identified the tumor-suppressive role of circ_0000442 in breast cancer for the first time and found PTEN as a novel direct target of miR-148b-3p. The regulatory role of circ_0000442/miR-148b-3p/PTEN/PI3K/Akt axis was preliminarily confirmed in breast cancer cells and mouse models. These findings provide important progress in understanding breast cancer and lay the foundation for further research on the function, diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis of circular RNAs in breast cancer.

Downregulated exosomal microRNA-148b-3p in cancer associated fibroblasts enhance chemosensitivity of bladder cancer cells by downregulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and upregulating PTEN

Guang Shan et al.

Summary: Exosomes derived from cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) play a crucial role in promoting the metastasis, EMT, and drug resistance of bladder cancer cells through delivering miR-148b-3p. PTEN has been identified as a direct target of miR-148b-3p, and its overexpression can inhibit EMT, metastasis, and chemoresistance in bladder cancer cells. Downregulation of miR-148b-3p in CAF-derived exosomes may offer potential therapeutic opportunities for bladder cancer treatment by inhibiting the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway and promoting PTEN expression.

LncRNA NEAT1 Acts as an miR-148b-3p Sponge to Regulate ROCK1 Inhibition of Retinoblastoma Growth

Hang Lu et al.

Summary: The study showed that LncRNA NEAT1 was up-regulated in retinoblastoma tissues, cells and serum, and patients with high expression had poor prognosis. Knocking down LncRNA NEAT1 weakened proliferation and invasion, and accelerated apoptosis. Tumor allogeneic experiment demonstrated that sh-NEAT1 injection inhibited tumor growth. Furthermore, LncRNA NEAT1 inhibited proliferation and invasion, and promoted apoptosis through the miR-148b-3p/ROCK1 axis.
