Phillip A. Cantu et al.

Summary: This study examines changes in Healthy Life Expectancy (HLE) among non-Hispanic white Americans with different education levels during the first decade of the twenty-first century. The results show that HLE decreased for less-educated white individuals due to increases in disability prevalence, while HLE increased for college-educated white individuals attributed to decreases in both age-specific mortality rates and disability prevalence.
