MXene Ti3C2Tx-Derived Nitrogen-Functionalized Heterophase TiO2 Homojunctions for Room-Temperature Trace Ammonia Gas Sensing

Yong Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-functionalized heterophase TiO2 homojunctions (N-MXene) derived from MXene Ti3C2Tx were prepared and utilized as a sensing layer to detect trace NH3 gas at room temperature. The sensors exhibited improved detection limits and performance compared to existing MXene-involved reports, showing strong responses, sufficient recovery, and fast response/recovery speeds under humid conditions. The incorporation of nitrogen doping and TiO2 homojunctions played a key role in enhancing the performance of the sensors.

High gas sensor performance of WO3 nanofibers prepared by electrospinning

Paulo Morais et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the influence of heating rate on WO3 nanofibers and found that continuous nanofibers were obtained at 500 degrees C. WO3 nanofibers calcined at 10 degrees C/min showed high sensor signal and excellent selectivity, making them an attractive sensing material for detecting low and high NO2 concentrations.

Selected gas response measurements using reduced graphene oxide decorated with nickel nanoparticles

Ilka Simon et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of nickel nanoparticles supported on thermally reduced graphene oxides in the ionic liquid through microwave decomposition reaction, and their responses to different gases. The Ni@rGO-PEDOT:PSS composite showed better response to NO2 gas compared to the rGO-PEDOT:PSS composite, especially at 200 degrees C. The oxidation state of pure nickel nanoparticles after heat treatment was confirmed by powder diffraction.
