Chemical reaction, Soret and Dufour impacts on magnetohydrodynamic heat transfer Casson fluid over an exponentially permeable stretching surface with slip effects

B. Shankar Goud et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effects of velocity, temperature, and solutal slip on the mass and heat transfer characteristics of MHD mixed convection Casson fluid flow along an exponential permeable stretching surface. The governing equations, representing momentum, energy, and species concentration, are converted into ordinary differential equations using the similarity transformation. The ODEs are then numerically solved using the Keller-box method. The impacts of altered physical characteristics on flow quantities are explored through graphs and tables.

Navid Alipour et al.

Summary: To address the challenge of thermal performance and heat loss in energy conversion systems, this study simulated a trapezoidal cavity with a wavy top wall containing water/ethylene glycol GO-Al2O3 nanofluid using the Galerkin finite element method. The effects of physical parameters, such as porosity, thermal radiation, magnetic field angle, Rayleigh number, and Hartmann number, on thermal performance and fluid flow were investigated. The optimized values for these parameters were determined to be 1214.46, 2.86, 0.63, 0.24, and 59.35, respectively. By applying RSM and Taguchi integration, the highest average Nusselt number of 3.07 was achieved, indicating improved thermal performance.

2D mixed convection non-Darcy model with radiation effect in a nanofluid over an inclined wavy surface

Shankar Goud Bejawada et al.

Summary: This study examines the two-dimensional radiating mixed convective flow of a nanofluid over an inclined wavy surface, taking into account the presence of a non-Darcy penetrable material. The wavy surface is transformed into a smooth surface using coordinate transformation, and the mathematical formulation is converted into a group of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) that are solved using the bvp4c coding in MATLAB. The comparison with previous studies demonstrates the consistency of the current results and the acceptance of the numerical bvp4c method. The influence of relevant factors on nondimensional fluid flow areas, heat, and mass transmission rates is investigated.

Hydrothermal analysis of non-Newtonian fluid flow (blood) through the circular tube under prescribe d non-uniform wall heat flux

Shahin Faghiri et al.

Summary: This article investigates the Graetz-Nusselt problem for blood as a non-Newtonian fluid with power-law constitutive equation flowing inside an axisymmetric tube subjected to non-uniform surface heat flux. The flow field is determined by solving the continuity and momentum equations, and the energy equation is handled using the separation of variables method. Numerical calculations are performed using MATLAB built-in solver BVP4C, and an approximate analytic solution is obtained through an integral approach. The effects of controlling parameters on the thermal characteristics and structure of the non-Newtonian fluid flow are discussed. The results show that switching from constant to non-uniform wall heat flux significantly improves the accuracy of the simulation, and the maximum arterial wall temperature is found to be about 311.56 K under specific conditions.

Simultaneous results for unsteady flow of MHD hybrid nanoliquid above a flat/slendering surface

Fazle Mabood et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the boundary layer analysis of two-dimensional unsteady hybrid nanofluid flow over a flat/slendering stretching surface incorporating thermal radiation and magnetohydrodynamic analysis. The study resolves the transformed nonlinear ordinary differential equations using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg technique, and discusses the influences of the flow regime on several thermofluidic parameters. The main finding is that increasing the magnetic field and nanoparticle volume fraction parameters decreases skin friction, while improvements in radiation and nanoparticle volume fraction lead to a significant increase in heat transfer rate.
