TECM: Transfer learning-based evidential c-means clustering

Lianmeng Jiao et al.

Summary: In this study, a transfer learning-based evidential clustering algorithm (TECM) is proposed to address the issue of insufficient or contaminated data on clustering performance. The TECM algorithm integrates knowledge learned from a source domain with the data in a target domain to cluster the target data, demonstrating its effectiveness compared to other representative multitask or transfer-clustering algorithms.

Measuring Uncertainty in the Negation Evidence for Multi-Source Information Fusion

Yongchuan Tang et al.

Summary: Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is widely used for modeling and reasoning uncertain information. Recently, a new approach of modeling uncertain information with the negation of evidence has been proposed. To address the uncertainty in the negation information, a method of measuring uncertainty based on Deng entropy has been proposed, along with an improved method of multi-source information fusion.

A new base basic probability assignment approach for conflict data fusion in the evidence theory

Ming Jing et al.

Summary: Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is applied to process uncertain information, but traditional methods may produce counterintuitive results. A new bBPA method is proposed to handle highly conflicting data, consistent with classical probability theory. Experimental results show the superiority of the new method in dealing with highly conflicting data.

Combination of Transferable Classification With Multisource Domain Adaptation Based on Evidential Reasoning

Zhun-Ga Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a decision-level combination method for multisource domain adaptation based on evidential reasoning is proposed to improve classification accuracy by considering the reliabilities/weights of different source domains. Dempster's rule is employed to combine the classification results from different domains, and a neighborhood-based cautious decision-making rule is introduced to reduce error risk. Through these methods, the classification accuracy can be efficiently improved and the partial imprecision of classification can be well characterized.
