Conversational pragmatics: memory reporting strategies in different social contexts

Beatriz Martin-Luengo et al.

Summary: Previous research has shown that the information people share in conversations is influenced by their confidence in the accuracy of the answers. This study investigated how different social contexts and levels of knowledge affect the amount of information individuals are willing to share. The results confirmed that social contexts and question difficulty are important factors in conversation pragmatics, highlighting the need to consider incentive structures and metamemory theories in studying information sharing.

Deliberative process in sharing information with different audiences: Eye-tracking correlates

Beatriz Martin-Luengo et al.

Summary: Research on conversational pragmatics shows that speakers adjust the information they share based on the social context. Eye movement data indicates that in formal contexts, decision-making processes are more complex, with discrepancies between answer selection and eye movements.
