Simultaneous synthesis of H2, O2, and N2 via an innovatory energy system in Coronavirus pandemic time: Design, techno-economic assessment, and optimization approaches

Haoran Wei et al.

Summary: This study evaluates and optimizes an innovative integrated system consisting of solid oxide electrolysis cells and oxygen separator membranes to meet the oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen demands for hospitals and other healthcare applications. The parametric analysis shows that increasing the working temperature of the electrolyzer reduces system power consumption and improves efficiency. The multi-criteria optimization results indicate that the proposed system achieves a shorter payback period and higher exergy efficiency compared to the base case.

Thermodynamic entropy of a magnetized Ree-Eyring particle-fluid motion with irreversibility process: A mathematical paradigm

Muhammad Mubashir Bhatti et al.

Summary: This study investigates the irreversibility process and entropy generation of magnetic dusty liquid under the effects of partial slip in a porous channel, using mathematical modeling and numerical analysis. The results show that entropy generation and Bejan number are influenced by the Brinkman number and non-Newtonian effects. The presence of particles in the fluid decelerates the flow, while the magnetic and fluid parameters have similar effects on peristaltic pumping performance.

Engine performance and emission characteristics of palm biodiesel blends with graphene oxide nanoplatelets and dimethyl carbonate additives

L. Razzaq et al.

Summary: This study investigated the engine performance and emission characteristics of biodiesel blends with graphene oxide nanoplatelets (GNPs) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as fuel additives, as well as analysed the tribological characteristics of those blends. The results show that the blends with GNP and DMC additives exhibit promising performance in a four-stroke compression ignition engine, with significant reductions in emissions and friction coefficient.

Thermophysical Properties of Hybrid Nanofluids and the Proposed Models: An Updated Comprehensive Study

Mohammad M. Rashidi et al.

Summary: The thermal performance of energy conversion systems is crucial for efficiency improvement and depends heavily on the thermophysical features of the applied fluids. Increasing the volume fraction of solids can enhance thermal conductivity and dynamic viscosity, while the variation trend of specific heat depends on the base fluid. Higher temperature leads to increased thermal conductivity but decreased dynamic viscosity.

Summary: By altering the geometry of the injector nozzle, the study investigated the performance and emission characteristics of a dual-fuel engine under different operating conditions, identifying the optimal parameter combinations. The results showed that a 4-hole nozzle is suitable for Diesel-PG operation, while a 6-hole nozzle is ideal for HOME-PG operation, resulting in improved performance and reduced emissions.

Numerical analysis of activation energy on MHD nanofluid flow with exponential temperature-dependent viscosity past a porous plate

A. Shahid et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the incompressible steady flow with temperature-dependent viscosity of magnetohydrodynamics nanofluid through a vertically stretched porous sheet. The research employs the Reynolds exponential model and Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model to formulate the mathematical modeling. The solutions of the looming nonlinear coupled differential equations are obtained numerically using the spectral local linearization method (SLLM), demonstrating stability and adaptability to solve nonlinear problems.
