Characterization of Deformation by Cold Rolling in Ferritic Steel Containing Cu Particles Using Neutron Transmission Analysis

Yojiro Oba et al.

Summary: Neutron transmission spectra were measured to investigate the changes in crystallographic texture of ferrite grains and nanostructure of dispersed Cu particles in Cu steel during cold rolling. The experiments revealed that the crystallographic texture of ferrite grains rotated and changed, and the dispersed Cu particles elongated with increasing cold rolling strain.

Nanoscopic structure of borosilicate glass with additives for nuclear waste vitrification

Ryuhei Motokawa et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of additives on the nanoscopic structure of borosilicate glasses. The results show that Na2O decreases the glass melting point and increases the spacing of SiO2 and B2O3-rich domains, while CaO/ZnO additives induce void structures in the glass, which can be suppressed by Li2O.
