Improving cardiorespiratory fitness protects against inflammation in children: the IDEFICS study

Esther M. Gonzalez-Gil et al.

Summary: The study found that improving cardiorespiratory fitness in children can reduce the risk of inflammation, independently of weight and lifestyle behaviors. Therefore, enhancing fitness levels is crucial in preventing inflammatory states in children.

Pediatric obesity-Long-term consequences and effect of weight loss

Claude Marcus et al.

Summary: Childhood obesity is a serious problem that increases the risk of various diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune diseases. Weight loss can help reduce these risks, especially if achieved before puberty.

Cross-sectional and prospective associations between aerobic fitness and lipoprotein particle profile in a cohort of Norwegian schoolchildren

Paul Remy Jones et al.

Summary: The study showed that higher levels of aerobic fitness in children are associated with a favorable lipoprotein particle profile, indicating potential benefits for lipid metabolism. However, adjustments for adiposity are necessary to fully understand the impact of aerobic fitness on lipoprotein metabolism.

Effects of High-Intensity Interval Training and Moderate-Intensity Continuous Training on Cardiometabolic Risk Factors in Overweight and Obesity Children and Adolescents: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Meng Cao et al.

Summary: In this study, the effectiveness of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on cardiometabolic risk factors in obese children and adolescents was compared. Results showed that HIIT had more positive effects on maximal oxygen uptake and systolic blood pressure compared to MICT. However, there were no significant differences in other outcomes between HIIT and MICT. The protocol factors of HIIT had an important influence on its intervention effects.
