Methane Combustion over the Porous Oxides and Supported Noble Metal Catalysts

Hongxia Lin et al.

Summary: This review article summarizes the recent advances in the preparation of ordered porous oxides and supported noble metal catalysts, as well as their applications in methane combustion. The results show that superior performance is associated with a well-ordered and developed three-dimensional porous structure, large surface area, ultrahigh component dispersion, fast mass transfer, low-temperature reducibility, reactant activation ability, and strong interaction between metal and support.

Sorption-enhanced CO and CO2 methanation (SEM) for the production of high purity methane

Laura Gomez et al.

Summary: Sorption-enhanced methanation is a solution for producing high quality SNG under mild conditions, using an adsorbent to retain the by-product water. Rh-based catalyst and 5A zeolite adsorbent show potential for CO and CO2 hydrogenation. Pure CH4 production is achieved with stable performance under the selected operating conditions.
