Conjugate Heat Transfer Analysis for Cooling of a Conductive Panel by Combined Utilization of Nanoimpinging Jets and Double Rotating Cylinders

Lioua Kolsi et al.

Summary: In this study, the application of double rotating active cylinders and slot nanojet impingement for the cooling system of a conductive panel is considered. The effects of cylinder rotational speeds, size, and distance between them on the cooling performance are evaluated, revealing that the rotational effects and size of the cylinders significantly impact the thermal performance. Furthermore, subcooling and nanofluid utilization are found to contribute positively to the cooling performance. The estimation of maximum and average panel temperatures using an artificial neural network is also discussed.

Multijet impingement heat transfer under the combined effects of encapsulated-PCM and inclined magnetic field during nanoliquid convection

Fatih Selimefendigil et al.

Summary: This study numerically evaluates the convective heat transfer performance of a confined multiple jet impinging system with a phase change-packed bed (PCM-PB) sub-system under the effects of a magnetic field during hybrid nanoliquid convection. The presence of the magnetic field and its amplitude/inclination variation influence phase transition and heat transfer dynamics. The complete phase change time is reduced by about 15% and 11.7% for pure liquid and nanoliquid, respectively, when varying the magnetic field strength. The fastest phase transition dynamics are observed at an inclination angle of 0. Impinging system using PCM+nanoliquid at the highest magnetic field strength shows a 13.5% increase in the spatial average Nusselt number (Nu) compared to the system using only pure liquid. The phase transition becomes slower with larger distance values between the slots, while the average Nu increases by about 48.8%. When compared to the reference case without a magnetic field and PCM, the use of PCM+nanoliquid under a magnetic field at the highest strength achieves up to an 84.88% increase in the average Nu. The thermal performance of the impinging system installed with PCM+nanoliquid under a magnetic field is obtained through system identification. (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Exergetic performance assessment ofmagnesium oxide-waternanofluid in corrugated minichannel heat sinks: An experimental study

Muhammad Usman Sajid et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of different factors on the thermal and exergetic performances of corrugated minichannel heat sinks and compared the thermal performance between different coolants. The results showed that the heat sink with the smallest wavelength and amplitude had the lowest wall temperature, and the use of nanofluid increased the Nusselt number of the heat sink.

Assessment of TiO2 Nanoconcentration and Twin Impingement Jet of Heat Transfer Enhancement-A Statistical Approach Using Response Surface Methodology

Mahir Faris Abdullah et al.

Summary: Impinging jets are used as a technique for high local heat transfer rates, and in this study, experimental analysis was conducted to investigate the impact of four influential parameters on heat transfer rates. XRD and FESEM analyses were used to highlight the structure of the TiO2 nanoparticle coating. The results showed that surface coating with TiO2 nanoparticles can improve heat transfer efficiency, and multivariate approaches were found to be effective for optimizing heat transfer using impingement jet techniques.

Forced Convective Heat Transfer Analysis for Two-dimensional Slot Jet of Water-CuO Nanofluid

Amin Etminan et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of variations in nanoparticle diameter and volume fraction on heat transfer characteristics in a two-dimensional slot jet, finding that nanofluid exhibits higher heat transfer coefficients compared to distilled water. As Reynolds number and nanoparticle volume concentrations increase, heat transfer rate on the surface also increases, while smaller nanoparticle diameters enhance cooling processes. Additionally, increasing nanoparticle diameter can increase Nusselt number on the plate by up to 10%.
