Influence of molecular weight on thermal and mechanical properties of bisphenol A-based phthalonitrile resins

Tristan Butler et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the correlation between chemical structures and performance-essential thermal, mechanical, and long-term stability properties of cross-linked thermosets by preparing resins of different molecular weights from the Bisphenol A based PEEK (TM)-like oligomeric phthalonitrile (BisA). The results show a positive correlation between increasing oligomer molecular weight and properties like melting points, cure initiation conditions, and char yields. Rheological studies also indicate significant viscosity increases with higher molecular weights. Hardness analysis reveals different brittleness and hardness in the cured polymers cross-linked with different molecular weights.

Rationally designed ultrathin Ni(OH)2/titanate nanosheet heterostructure for photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Wanru Liao et al.

Summary: Dye-sensitized photocatalytic CO2 reduction can be significantly improved by using a Ni(OH)2-loaded titanate nanosheet composite. The ultrathin H2Ti6O13 nanosheets serve as a support for the dye photosensitizer, while the loaded Ni(OH)2 acts as a CO2 adsorbent and electron sink. This rational design enables efficient photoelectron transfer and CO2 reduction.

Fluorescent Labeling to Investigate Nanopatterning Processes in Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography

Lianjia Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, an inorganic EUV photoresist with fluorescence properties was developed by introducing a carbazole derivative as a ligand, and its impact on the patterning process was investigated. The incorporation of carbazole benzoate ligands led to a substantial reduction in resist sensitivity, attributed to hole trapping and steric hindrance. Fluorescent labeling was shown to offer relevant mechanistic insights into the patterning process of resists.
