How the Duration and Mode of Photopolymerization Affect the Mechanical Properties of a Dental Composite Resin

Summary: This study aimed to compare the mechanical properties of a composite material, depending on the time and mode of photopolymerization. Different photopolymerization protocols were used to cure the samples, and the flexural strength, Vickers microhardness, and FTIR spectroscopy were measured. The results showed that the mode and cure time affect the mechanical properties of the composite resin. Appropriate selection of the cure mode and time ensures better mechanical properties of composite resin.
